Unassuming small place. The exterior belies a homey, albeit Spartan, interior. Food takes a little time, so don't be in a hurry. Any wait is well worth it because it is prepared fresh just for you. The staff is super friendly and obliging. I had the lamb dish and it was seared to perfection and married exceptionally well with the rest of the plate. I will definitely return.
I have been coming to this place quite often. Lovely people and great food. I would only recommend doing more cleaning. Especially door and window face the outside. Overall 5 starts.
I placed a takeout order today for Lamb Shank over rice, it had a side of tasty hummus(it had a spice oil mixed in that made the hummus tasty) & a side salad with dressing. The young gentleman behind the counter took my call in order and was friendly and professional on the phone. The same young man put my order together and was very friendly. Enjoyed the food at home, quite tasty. I never realized all this time that this tiny restaurant was next to the Phillips Gas Station on the east side of North 17th street. If you don’t look for it one can easily miss it. I will be sure to return with my sisters to try some of the other tasty looking entrees. Thank you Safaa. 🙏
The people here are so nice! The food and service was amazing. I got a falafel plate, definitely the best I’ve had! Great option for any vegetarians like myself!
Safaa in Lincoln, NE is a true hidden gem for Middle Eastern cuisine. I tried the lamb shank meal, and it was incredible—tender, falling off the bone, perfectly seasoned, and served in a portion that was just right. The gyro was also fantastic, and the baklava made for a perfect sweet finish. The staff were friendly, talkative, and made the meal even more enjoyable.
Best people with the best food. Staff was super hospitable, food came out quick and was top notch.
I love a good shawarma and I got the chicken/beef sandwich with both proteins mixed in. It was super delicious and just the right portion. The garlic sauce is amazing, too. Clean space and great service. 🧄
